Babar was part of the Pakistan ODI squad against Zimbabwe in 2015. In the third ODI, he scored 54 runs on 60 balls and his career in cricket started in a promising direction. In 2019, he was included in the Pakistan squad for Cricket World Cup 2019. He became the best batsman in Pakistan by making 3000 runs in 68 ODIs.
